NB Doctors Cycling Against Cancer was borne from Dr. Mohammed Harb’s participation in a cycling fundraiser he joined in while living in the U.K. Colleagues, Dr. Paul Goobie, Dr. Tooraj Shakerinia and Dr. Nizar Abdel-Samad liked the idea, and with the help of some cycling-enthusiast friends, a route was mapped and the inaugural trek was complete in 2014.
The ride has changed during the last 6 years and the commitment remains steadfast; rain or shine, the ride goes on! Participants take their inspiration from patients who, no matter what, carry on their best effort to beat cancer.
In addition to the cyclists, there are dedicated volunteers who make sure the ride happens.
Now in its 7th year, the over $429,000 raised has been dedicated to support The Moncton Hospital’s Dr. Sheldon H. Rubin Oncology Clinic and the Oncology Inpatient Unit. All proceeds stay right here with The Moncton Hospital to enhance our patient care.
Cyclists and volunteers are grateful for the generousity of donors and sponsors who help make this ride a success.
